The EU, the U.S., and the Crisis in Ukraine

Please join Alliance, Harriman Institute, the European Institute, La Maison Francaise, and European Union for a roundtable discussion about EU and U.S. efforts to address the crisis in Ukraine.

The European Union and the United States have joined together in efforts to try to contain and resolve the crisis in Ukraine. Speakers at this roundtable discussion will compare the EU and US approaches to the crisis and efforts to address it, and will also present their visions of possible outcomes to the conflict.

Speakers include Pierre Vimont, Senior Associate at Carnegie Europe, former Secretary-General of the European External Action Service, former Ambassador of France to the United States and Permanent Representative of France to the European Union; Tarik Amar, Assistant Professor of History, Columbia University; Alexander Cooley, Director, Harriman Institute; Professor Political Science, Barnard College. The panel will be moderated by Adam Tooze, Director, European Institute; Kathryn and Shelby Cullom Davis Professor of History.
